Leveraging its strong R&D capabilities, MEAN WELL – following the launch of 8:1 ultra-wide input series in SIP (1W-9W), DIP (3W-20W), and 1” x 1” (10W-30W) packages – has introduced a new 2” x 1” package series with five power ratings: 10W, 15W, 20W, 30W, and 50W. With this addition, MEAN WELL has built a rare and comprehensive 8:1 module-type DC-DC product lineup in the industry, offering a full power range from 1W to 50W across multiple package types. This enables the company to provide one-stop DC-DC power solutions for global industrial, power, and communication customers.

The key highlight of the new generation 8:1 series is their ability to accept an ultra-wide input range of 9~75Vdc. A single module can support multiple system voltages such as 12Vdc, 24Vdc, and 48Vdc, significantly simplifying inventory management and improving overall system stability. In addition, the new and previous generations are fully pin-to-pint compatible, allowing users to upgrade to the new generation without modifying the PCB layout – enabling a seamless upgrade for end systems. The main specification differences between the new and previous generations are summarized in the table below for selection and design reference:
