A conduit manufacture company was looking for highly specialized power supply solution for one of their automated conduit bender machines—a precision machine uses to bend electrical conduit. The project presented a multifaceted engineering challenge: a compact power unit to fit within a wall-mounted enclosure, high thermal performance, user friendly and mechanical constraints. Moreover, the power supply needed to deliver robust output to simultaneously power a high-torque motor and charge an onboard battery, ensuring seamless compatibility with the broader system architecture.

Understanding the application requirements, MEAN WELL power solution team optimized the power design by integrating the compact and slim UHP-2500-24 power supply unit to meet the mechanical requirement and supporting both a high-torque motor and onboard battery charging simultaneously. To support the design implementation, The MEAN WELL one stop shop (C1 Accessories Hall) offers suitable enclosure and an active DC cooling fan to fulfill the form factor and thermal requirements. The result was a well-balanced solution that delivered strong performance, effective thermal management, and dependable operation.
