The Hong Kong International Autumn Lighting Fair opened grandly at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on October 27, 2025 . MEAN WELL, a global leader in standard power supply solutions, presented a range of new products and three major solution strategies. With deep insights into technological trends and a comprehensive industrial layout, MEAN WELL once again became a major highlight of the exhibition.

As a pioneer in intelligent lighting power solutions, MEAN WELL’s booth was located in the central exhibition area—the Hall of Aurora—showcasing its “2+1” strategic framework built upon DALI-2, KNX, and Matter standards. These three core solutions comprehensively address key smart lighting applications—covering smart home, commercial lighting, and building automation—reaffirming MEAN WELL’s leading position in shaping the intelligent lighting ecosystem.

“2+1” Strategy Leads Industry Standards: Three Core Solutions Address Smart Lighting Needs
In response to the industry’s trends toward standardization, wireless communication, and ecosystem integration, MEAN WELL introduced its “2+1” technology strategy, focusing on two wired standards—DALI-2 and KNX—plus one wireless protocol, Matter. These three independent solutions are designed to precisely align with evolving market needs.

Denny Hu, General Manager of Guangzhou MEAN WELL, explained in an interview with Aladdin Media: “This year, our core display concept revolves around the ‘2+1’ strategy—‘2’ representing DALI and KNX, and ‘1’ representing the Matter wireless standard. Each of our solutions is independently developed based on these standards, ensuring highly compatible and reliable one-stop services for our customers.”
Three Core Solutions Address Industry Pain Points
  • Matter Smart Home Wireless Dimming Solution
Powered by the XLC-MA Series LED drivers, this solution is built on Matter over Thread technology and certified by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). It supports seamless interoperability across different brands and devices, meeting smart home demands for wireless connectivity, low power consumption, and easy deployment.
Hu highlighted, “This solution breaks the barriers of fragmented wireless protocols, providing consumers with a unified and convenient smart lighting control experience.”
  • DALI-2 Digital Lighting System Solution
Leveraging MEAN WELL’s extensive DALI-2 ecosystem, this solution integrates LED drivers, main controllers, DALI-2 touch panels (DTP Series), and DALI-2 infrared motion sensors (DLS Series), forming a complete “drive–control–sensing” system.
“All our DALI-2 products are fully certified, ensuring excellent compatibility and stability,” said Hu. “This allows customers to enjoy one-stop convenience while maintaining system quality and consistency.”
  • KNX Building Automation Solution
Tailored for commercial buildings and public facilities, this solution features the XLC Series LED drivers with built-in KNX protocol. By integrating KNX control directly into AC-DC drivers, system setup becomes simpler and more efficient. Complementary products such as gateways and actuators further enhance centralized lighting and energy management applications.

New Product Launches: Redefining Smart Lighting Benchmarks
In addition to the three major solutions, MEAN WELL introduced several innovative products spanning drivers, control interfaces, and sensors—setting new standards for smart lighting technologies.
  • XLC-MA Series Matter Wireless Dimming LED Drivers
Supporting both constant current and constant voltage modes, these energy-efficient drivers seamlessly connect with the Matter ecosystem. They are ideal for downlights, panel lights, and LED strips used in residential or hospitality environments.
  • XLC-KN Series KNX-Integrated LED Constant Current Drivers
By embedding the KNX protocol directly into the driver, external modules are eliminated—simplifying installation and enhancing reliability. Ideal for building and office automation.
  • DTP Series DALI-2 Touch Panels
Available in four models compatible with both EU and US standards, these panels support multiple control actions (single press, double press, long press) to trigger lighting scenes or group functions. Their minimalist design complements any interior style.

  • DLS Series DALI-2 Infrared Motion Sensors
Designed for both low- and high-ceiling installations, these sensors include ambient light detection for smart “on-when-present, off-when-absent” control—perfect for corridors, parking lots, offices, warehouses, and lobbies.
  • SPWM Series PWM Dimming Power Supplies
Extending MEAN WELL’s PWM product line, this series features terminal-type outputs and supports multiple control modes, including 3-in-1, DALI-2, KNX, and Matter. “The SPWM Series is truly an all-in-one solution,” said Hu. “It broadens the application scope of PWM technology and offers customers outstanding cost performance.”

Empowering the Future of Smart Lighting through Innovation
With its “2+1” technology strategy and comprehensive product portfolio, MEAN WELL demonstrated its strong technical expertise and ecosystem integration capabilities at this year’s Hong Kong Lighting Fair. From wired standards to wireless protocols, and from individual products to complete system solutions, MEAN WELL continues to focus on customer needs and technological excellence, providing stable, compatible, and open smart lighting infrastructures .As Hu concluded:“MEAN WELL is committed to building a highly reliable, compatible, and one-stop smart lighting ecosystem. We will continue to deepen our expertise in DALI, KNX, and Matter technologies—driving innovation and helping the global lighting industry accelerate its transformation toward digitalization and intelligence.”

With its leadership in standards, technological breakthroughs, and ecosystem integration, MEAN WELL is paving the way toward a more efficient and intelligent future for the global lighting industry.
