After launching 8:1 ultra-wide input DC-DC converters in SIP (1W~9W) and DIP24 (3W~20W) packages, MEAN WELL has further introduced a new series in a 1” x 1” package with four power ratings: 10W, 15W, 20W, and 30W. These new products are suitable for a wide range of applications, including power equipment, electronic instrumentation, communication systems, industrial automation control, and IoT.

The new generation 8:1 series supports an ultra-wide input range of 9~75Vdc. Compared to previous generations that required multiple models with 2:1 or 4:1 input ranges (such as 9-18Vdc, 18-36Vdc, 36~72Vdc, or 9~36Vdc, 18~75Vdc), the 8:1 series can cover common system voltages of 12Vdc, 24Vdc, and 48Vdc with a single unit. This significantly simplifies model selection, reduces inventory variety, and optimizes system design complexity.

In addition, to enable quick upgrades for existing systems, the new and previous generations are fully pin-to-pin compatible. Users can seamlessly switch to the new generation without modifying the PCB layout. The main specification differences between the new and previous generations are summarized in the table below for selection and design reference.
