According to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) and NEC 2020 (National Electrical Code) regulations, Code Section 410.69, effective from January 1, 2022, provides that luminaire dimming wires shall not be colors reserved for the grounded conductor wire or neutral wire such as white and gray. EU IEC 60598-1 regulations also require that dimming wires cannot be green or yellow.

In accordance with these regulations, MEAN WELL has already used purple and pink for the existing LED driver dimming wires in order to comply with the regulations and provide customers with a unified color, and reduce issues related to frequent modification of wires or based on government bidding requirements. Relevant upgrade costs and certification fees are absorbed by MEAN WELL and the selling price will not be affected. If you have any questions about this product upgrade, please refer to the latest specifications on MEAN WELL's official website, or contact your MEAN WELL sales representative.
